Athletics track gets boost ahead of Olympics from Arena Stadia Seating

Alexander Stadium is an international athletics stadium located within Perry Park in Perry Barr, Birmingham, England, which stages the Amateur Athletics Association Championships, and was the venue of the 1998 Disability World Athletics Championships. The stadium construction began in 1975 and it opened in 1976. It is the home of Birchfield Harriers, one of the best known athletics clubs in the United Kingdom, replacing their former home at Alexander Sports Ground. The stadium had a seating capacity of 7000 which was proving restrictive for major events.

Kevin Levack, Stadium Manager at the Alexander Stadium commented “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for all your hard work in completing the seating in the new back-straight Grandstand here at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. I have had nothing but positive comments from everyone who has visited the site. The seats themselves look great but now the numbers are in this is the ‘icing on the cake’ and really finishes off the new stand”.
